about the Renesans ensemble
Renesans Ensemble from Belgrade, founded in 1969, is the oldest ensemble for early and traditional music in the region. They specialize in performing medieval, renaissance and baroque music, using replicas of historical instruments. During more than half a century, they held over 2,000 concerts throughout Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, and contributed to the affirmation of early music in Serbia.

Renesans has completed the recording of the landmark project Ludus Vitae, featuring the complete performance of 15 dances from a manuscript dating from around 1400 and preserved in Florence. Through this work, Renesans once again bridges the past and the present through sounds that reflect the life, joy, and spirit of a bygone era.

"Music against oblivion"
Renesans solemnly opened the 50th anniversary edition of the festival "Octobru Hododarje – OKTOH" at the hall of the First Kragujevac Gymnasium. Through music, they expressed respect for the victims of the Kragujevac October tragedy and reminded us that art has the power to connect people and preserve memory.
